Ah Davy Jones, I was a Paul McCartney girl myself. A local radio station sponsored a contest to see if the Monkees were liked better than the Beatles. You could vote by sending the station a postcard. I think my girlfriend sent 100 cards to vote for the Beatles. I think that the vote was close, but I think time has picked the Beatles.

The Monkees album was the 2nd one I ever paid for with my own money...the first was Marty Robbins. yes, I have always been just a tad schizoid...lol.
