This beauty grows in my front flower bed.
The blooms of the clematis often change color, some very markedly through the life of each flower, particularly when grown in the full sun. The pastel colors will hold their color best if grown in some shade. After the flowers are finished, the very attractive seed heads stay on the plant and can make a welcome addition to most flower arrangements. If left on the plant they sometimes remain well into winter.

This is pretty. I also have a clematis but it is just beginning to leaf out...still have a bit before it flowers. It starts out a deep purple and turns lighter and lighter until it becomes almost white.

I have a white one that blooms like heaven. My other ones not so much.
I've never had a purple one tho-- and the lady down the street had a purple one that was the envy of the neighborhood
I have tried for years to grow clematis and no way will it take. Well that and the darn deer keep eating it when it finally does start to bloom! It's such a beautiful flower.
