Christmas time is here again

It's gonna be fun this year! I went Black Friday

shopping and found some bargains. Early Christmas

start for me.

Camping

Our trip to Dover, Arkansas was successful. We used our Chalet Alpine rv for the first time. We stayed four nights without too many problems. Since this was our first trip we had to get used to the camper. Hauling it was no problem, we were able to haul it and the four-wheeler trailer hooked together with our Toyota Tundra. We could run 70 and 75 miles ph easily. The first and second night our furnace came on and several times we would hear a beeping sound. My husband finally figured out the 12v wire needed to be hooked up so the spark igniter could work properly. The freezer worked great. Things were so cold in the refrig part that the milk partially froze. I had to turn it down. All our meat stayed frozen solid in the freezer. We didn't try out the shower because the campground had a shower and bathroom to use. Our air bed was great but we have decided to get a regular mattress because we will never use the table under the bed. We'll just dedicate that space to the bed full time. We had our flat-screen tv and dvd player that we bought for the rv. We got an off-air antenna that worked great picking up 9 channels with HD even. The only thing I cooked this time was waffles for breakfast. We ate a packed lunch every day out in the woods on the trails. Every evening after trail-riding we would get cleaned up and go into Russelville and find new places to dine. The weather was beautiful. It was pretty cool every morning and would warm up to about 60 degrees. We did not get rained on except the first night and that was while we were sleeping. We rode the Moccasin Gap trails every day. There were four couples all together. Two couples stayed in cabins and two of us stayed in RV's or toy haulers. It was a great trip.

Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?

Well, Colorado, I'm telling you now!

We ate our lunch every day on the mountain. Nothing ever tasted so good!
Relaxing after a long drive. The wildflowers were in bloom everywhere! I love you, Colorado. I can't wait to return.

Happy Anniversary. 34 years. Seriously 2/3rds of my life.

It was the most beautiful and sunny day we have had

in weeks.  So we took a little trip to Woolaroc.  It's very 

near our home and such a wonderful place with 

lots of animals to see.  

The Picture of Dorian Gray

My husband acted in high school.  Here he was Dorian Gray.  I always loved watching the high school perform plays.  That got us out of class to watch.  Bonus!  But I especially liked this guy (second from the left).  I even bought these photos from the year book because I liked him so much.  He didn't know it at the time.  I was a sophomore and he was a senior.  He only noticed me when I would walk down the Cotton Gin Road to my house from town or the high school.  He had a friend in his band that lived a quarter of a mile past my house.  There were times he would give me a ride when I was walking to work at the nursing home.  I had one cute uniform with a fitted waist.  I surely did like that uniform.

Colonoscopy

Today I took my husband to get a colonoscopy.  He prepared for it starting on Saturday afternoon eating only jello and clear liquids.  Then the fun began on Sunday afternoon with the solution taken to clean you out.  Several hours later, mission accomplished!  

You know what?  They even give you color photos of your colon.  I'm sure you don't want to see them.  Butt, he was given a good bill of health.  No need for another test for ten more years.

What I've Been Up To...

Whatever have I been doing with myself?
I work at home for my husband's business.
We are self-employed. I am the paper-work
queen.  Office goddess, if you prefer.  I do.  Hee hee.

That means I type all the invoices on the computer and

send out statements to customers.  I pay all bills for the

business and payroll for employees.  I do payroll reports

and any other nasty little report that comes along.  I have

a good program called "Quick Books" that I really like and

have been familar with for several years.  This keeps me

semi-occupied.  Now three children in college these 

past few years has kept me otherwise occupied.  All good.

As I have mentioned before, the oldest daughter has graduated

college and got her RN license and is working and living

in the nearest big city to me. (About 45 minutes away.)

My latest project which I have been enjoying is to sew

my daughter's some curtains for their new apartment

bedroom windows.  I started on my youngest daughter's

first and it turns out that she didn't like the green material

at all.  So guess where these beauties are now?  In my office/

extra bedroom.  I don't mind, I enjoyed the sewing.  I know

you're going to think that the brown/green kind of clashes

with those hot pink walls but hey! what the hay?  I enjoy

anything that I create, no matter what!  Those walls will

be transformed someday, just not yet.  I guess I can see

why she didn't like the green, but I'll try again.  This time

she is picking out the material, duh?  I should have known

better!  

Now for those of you discriminating minds that were 

absolutely fascinated with that picture of me on the wall,

here is a closer shot.  This is a artist drawing of me.  When

we went to Paris in 2000, we were in the Montmarte 

area and artists on the street everywhere want to draw

your picture for a fee of course.  They practically insist.

As you might notice, I am not smiling in this picture, 

because another artist was drawing my daughter and I

was watching and waiting while another persistant artist

kept insisting that he draw me.  One artist started drawing

my eye (and he did a very good job) but I kept saying,"no,

thank you."  He finally got mad and walked a short distance

away watching.  Another artist came up and started drawing

me and I decided to let him.  But I was not smiling at the

time 'cause I could see the other artist staring daggers at

me.  If looks could kill.  So I paid for my drawing to him

and for my daughter's to another artist.  He did capture

me pretty well even though I was not smiling.  I look very

serious.  But after all I am glad I bought it.  Also, if you look

at the above photo, on the left of it you will see a photo

that I took of my flower and I framed it.  I just happened

to have a frame already that it fit into.  Now notice that

it matches my brown and green curtains.  There!  Makes

it all coorindinate, doesn't it?  I'm sharp like that!  hee hee

This is another project that took a bit of our time last

week.  We purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra Crew Max

for my husband to drive for his business.  We feel like

we got a really good deal.  He is taking it tomorrow to get

the front windows tinted.  He has ordered running boards

and a tonto cover for the bed.  We are getting the bed spray-

lined too.  He has to haul parts for his business in it.  We

plan on taking this jewel on vacation to Yellowstone Park

next year.  The four door crew cab has tons of seating room.

It's much bigger than a car.  We will be taking all three kids

with us too.  Our luggage can go in the bed of the pickup

under the tonto cover.  Last year we rented a SUV for

our trip to Colorado.  This time we can save that expense.

My dearest

This is my dearest husband. We have been married 32 years. That's about 2/3rds or 64% of my life. LOL. He's great. my gosh, he works hard. It is amazing. He never takes sick days, he just goes to work every day. He runs his own business and it isn't air conditioned, just big fans in the summer. He keeps our three kids in college, soon they will be out and he can slow down a little. I am very thankful that I am married to a man who doesn't drink or run around. I don't have to wonder where he is, I grew up with a dad like that, yet thankfully he changed his ways later in life after he became a Christian. My DH is a guitar player too. He was able to move some of his amplifiers and guitars into #2 daughters bedroom now that she moved out. We are still going to keep a smaller bed in there for her visits. Our #1 daughter moved out a couple of years ago and we have a twin bed in her old bedroom also. I moved my office computer in there and my piano keyboard. So DH can finally have his space, except he decided to move the new MAC in his space. Our son is in college, but he still uses his bedroom quite regularly. Life sure changes and time seems to fly. Anyway, I appreciate and love these precious gifts that God has given to me!!
