Thanks to Karmyn I joined Postcrossing and I have received my first postcard from Ingrid in the Netherlands. She once lived as an exchange student in Mississippi. I am sending my next postcard to Mari in Finland. This is fun!
The outcome of this have yet to be seen but it probably won't be good. The woman was being transported to the hospital for heatstroke. She is ok.
For more of the story, it's here. You've just got to ask yourself, why? Couldn't it have waited until they got the woman to the hospital and unloaded her? What a setup for a lawsuit!
Caisson Song (1908, original version) Over hill over dale we have hit the dusty trail As our caissons go rolling along. Up and down, in and out, Countermarch and right about, And our caissons go rolling along.
For it's hi-hi-hee in the Fifth Artillery, Shout out the number loud and strong.
Till our final ride, It will always be our pride To keep those caissons a rolling along. (Keep them rolling - keep them rolling)* Keep those caissons a rolling along. (B-a-t-t-e-r-y H-a-l-t!)*
The Army Goes Rolling Along (1956, current official version) typically only the first verse and refrain are sung (not including the intro) Intro: March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory We're the Army and proud of our name We're the Army and proudly proclaim Verse: First to fight for the right, And to build the Nation’s might, And The Army Goes Rolling Along Proud of all we have done, Fighting till the battle’s won, And the Army Goes Rolling Along. Refrain: Then it's Hi! Hi! Hey! The Army's on its way. Count off the cadence loud and strong For where e’er we go, You will always know That The Army Goes Rolling Along.
Verse: Valley Forge, Custer's ranks, San Juan Hill and Patton's tanks, And the Army went rolling along Minute men, from the start, Always fighting from the heart, And the Army keeps rolling along. (Refrain) Verse: Men in rags, men who froze, Still that Army met its foes, And the Army went rolling along. Faith in God, then we're right, And we'll fight with all our might, As the Army keeps rolling along. (Refrain)
Angie, Angie, when will those clouds all disappear? Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here? With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, Angie, you can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, but ain't it time we said good-bye? Angie, I still love you, remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear: Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here?
Oh, Angie, don't you weep, all your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it time we said good-bye? With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, I still love you, baby Ev'rywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on Baby, dry your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it good to be alive? Angie, Angie, they can't say we never tried
My son took our photo for us, he does not enjoy being in a photo. Flowers, cards, a rose, and presents. I fixed fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, biscuits, and gravy for lunch. We had a nice day together. My mother got to hold her new great-grandson the evening before. That would be my nephew pictured a few posts ago.
Myhusband acted in high school. Here he was Dorian Gray. I always loved watching the high school perform plays. That got us out of class to watch. Bonus! But I especially liked this guy (second from the left). I even bought these photos from the year book because I liked him so much. He didn't know it at the time. I was a sophomore and he was a senior. He only noticed me when I would walk down the Cotton Gin Road to my house from town or the high school. He had a friend in his band that lived a quarter of a mile past my house. There were times he would give me a ride when I was walking to work at the nursing home. I had one cute uniform with a fitted waist. I surely did like that uniform.
Here is my future husband receiving an award for drama.
I liked seeing him in a caveman suit. I had to check out his legs!
This little orange buggy is ours. That's my husband and son in it. For more Wordless Wednesday go here.
They are pulling a dune slowly.
Moi.
I am standing on top of my four-wheeler for this video. You really don't get a good grasp of how tall these dunes are until you are there. They are from 80 to 100 feet tall. We're at the top of a dune and those four-wheelers are at the top of another dune. The dune drops off just on the other side of the orange buggy. We rode the tops of many dunes. It is marvelous fun!
